Suede shoes are right on trend this season. Suede is a luxurious material and therefore requires a little more care and attention than materials such as leather. Especially with the changeable weather in the Netherlands, you’ll want to make sure your shoes are well protected. In this trend report, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about protecting, maintaining and cleaning suede shoes.

Protecting Suede Shoes

When it comes to suede shoes, prevention is better than cure. A protective spray is essential to shield your shoes from dirt and liquids. How to protect suede shoes:

Step 1: Spray evenly over your shoes from a distance of approximately 30 cm. Please note: lighter shoes may appear slightly darker after application.
Step 2: Allow the spray to dry for 24 hours. Once activated, it protects your shoes for up to 6 months.

Cleaning Suede Shoes

Stains or dirt can still occur on suede shoes. Minor marks can often be removed with a suede brush. However, when a stain has absorbed into the material, proper cleaning is the best solution. With the Nubikk Shoe Cleaner, you restore affected shoes and bring them back to their original condition.

How to Clean Suede Shoes

Step 1: Dilute the Nubikk Shoe Cleaner with water.
Step 2: Apply the diluted cleaner to the shoes using a microfiber cloth. Avoid using too much product, as overly wet suede can cause additional stains. Dab the stain with short, one-directional motions. Be aware: always use a dabbing motion, rubbing can push the stain deeper into the material.
Step 3: Let the shoes dry for 30 minutes. If the stain is still visible, repeat the steps.
